One of the most common New Year’s resolutions that we make over and over again is to get in shape. But so many of us end up quitting after a couple weeks or a month. And it’s okay, we’ve all been there! It’s hard to keep committed to something that can be a challenge for so many of us.
Thankfully though, I’ve curated some awesome ideas that’ll help you lose holiday pounds and put you on the path to having a fit body. So check them out and let me know what you think.
Workout in the Mornings
Starting your day with a good workout does have some serious advantages over leaving it for after work. You’ll be more active all day long, it burn more fats, builds muscle, and helps you sleep better at night.
Working out in the morning also increases your immunity, longevity, and puts you in a better mood.
Eat Balanced Meals
This may sound cliche and mainstream over time, but it’s still one of the most important factors that helps you achieve your fitness goals. Eating healthy food will give your body the nutrients it needs to function correctly. It’ll also fuel you to stay active and alert while hitting the gym. Without good nutrition, your body is more prone to disease, fatigue, and poor performance.
Drink Detox Water
Detox water infused with fruits and vegetables is a great solution for losing a few pounds and flushing out toxins. Drinking them at any time of the day can kickstart your metabolism and help your body perform at its best. They’re super easy to prepare and taste great.
Use a Smaller Plate
Using a smaller plate whenever you eat will help you control your portion sizes since there only so much you can put on your plate. This will reduce your consumption and help you lose more pounds.
Get Enough Sleep
When you’re short on sleep, it’s easy to just order a large latte to get moving. And on top of that, when you’re sleeping, your body actually burns calories you wouldn’t normally burn if you were awake. Probably one of the easiest ways to get rid of weight right? So make sure you get a full 8 hour sleep!
Bring Your Workout Essential When You are on Vacation
Just because you’re traveling this holiday season doesn’t mean you have to leave your workout routine behind. Pack some fitness gear and take it with you. You can spend half an hour running or doing cardio exercises and your body will be definitely thank you.
Walk a Bit Further
Another easy and effortless way to tone your muscle and lose weight is by walking. Taking at least a 15-minute-long walk per day will help you reach your goals and lose weight. So instead of driving your car to go to some place nearby, why not walk? You’ll be saving gas, money, and your health as well.
Use YouTube for Free Fitness
It’s so overwhelming to know how much good stuff you can find on Youtube (and it’s all free!). So take advantage of it and find some fitness tutorials. You don’t need a gym membership to get your fitness on — in most cases, all you need is WiFi and a bit of floor space. Subscribe to a fitness channel and begin burning those calories.
De-stress Yourself
Stress seems to be such a common thing in our lives. And sadly, it affect your emotions and tends to divert your attention into unhealthy eating habits.
However, starting a de-stress diet can help. It includes eating a healthy meal, getting enough sleep, doing exercises, and meditating. This can help you feel better and lose more pounds.

This tip is perfect for a couple or even a group of friends who want to shed pounds together. Instead of going out, eating at a fancy restaurant, or watching movies, why not plan an outing and get active? Like taking a bicycle ride, dance lessons, or hiking.
