Although success is measured in many different ways, there is one thing all successful women have in common; good financial habits. But what are these habits and how can you even begin to start forming them? Well here are just a few of them to help you get started!

She Pays Back the Worst First

Before good habits can be established it is important to clear those debts. The first step is to work out which debts are costing you the most and to get them cleared.

She Doesn’t Tell Herself This Lie

Many people will tell themselves the biggest lie, “I deserve this.” Especially after a hard day! But in reality, she knows that she deserves a financially free future free from money stress and worries.

She Has an Emergency Fund

Life is full of unexpected events that we have no control over. Having a savings account that you top up slowly but steadily is key to ensuring that when things don’t go as planned, there is something to fall back on.

She Knows Her Income Like the Back of Her Hand

In order to maintain a healthy bank account, it is important that you know exactly where your money is coming from and where it is going.

She Finds Joy in the Simpler Things

While it can be easy to get caught up in the things we feel one “needs,” she looks to the smaller joys like quality time with loved ones or cultivating a week filled with doing the things that relax her (like gratitude journaling, detox baths, or taking a bike ride).

She Saves Through the Smaller Things

It is so easy to just buy a coffee here and there, but if you add all those coffees you’ve bought this week up, it can be quite a shock! So instead of splurging on a coffee or two every day, invest in a reusable coffee cup and make your own. All that money can now go towards your savings and retirement!

She Masters What She’s Interested In

Instead of going out and spending money on that nice Moroccan dinner, she stays in and masters it herself. She find the best recipes on Pinterest and tests her cooking skills.

She Invests

She understands that making investments early on is how she will provide for herself in the future. Having this future-mindset helps set her up for success a few decades down the road.

She Sticks to Her Budget

It is so easy to wave that credit card and have the latest hand bag or designer purse, but this is just an appearance. Be motivated by actual wealth instead of the appearance of it. Don’t live a life you can’t afford.

She Pushes for That Pay Rise

She knows what she’s worth because of the work she puts in. And if you are putting in more work than expected, then go to your boss, lay out the things you’ve done to go above and beyond, and negotiate a pay raise.

She Thinks About the Future

It may seem far away, but the key to a care free retirement is to start now! Look into what your company has to offer for retirement plans and take advantage of it. Investing in your retirement early on will make a huge difference!

Begin to form the habits of successful women one step at a time and soon, you will start to see the fruits of your work. It may not be the easiest at first, but you are investing into a beautiful future for you and your family.

Chasing Foxes was started in 2016 as a way for Grace and her husband, Silas, to start traveling. However, they started to realize that they had a passion for improving themselves, and wanted to help others level up their lives as well. So whether it's with cooking, travel, or staying healthy, they want to help you better your life bit by bit, as they do the same.
