Korean Beauty Secrets for achieving glowy, flawless skin with helpful tips like double cleansing, rice water, & more smart skincare techniques and rituals!

Korean girl with beautiful skin.

Thanks to K-Pop idols and K-Drama actresses, and whole LOT of TikTok videos, Korean beauty is now ridiculously popular.

And for good a good reason!

Their faces looks flawless and kind of makes you jealous when you see that impeccable and elusive glass skin.

But the real question is, what are the Korean beauty secrets that’ll help you stay looking young and ridiculously clear?

Well thankfully these Korean beauty tips aren’t too hard to find and you can duplicate them yourself at home to get that glowy skin.

1. Follow This 10-Second Rule

Korean girls believe that the skin is really dehydrated right after we take a shower, so we need to apply our toners or moisturizers within 10 seconds after taking a shower.

It’s just a good way to make sure it actually happens and their advice is to keep your skincare products in the shower for easy access.

2. Barley Tea

Barley tea is pretty popular among Koreans and it’s even been said to improve skin elasticity.

And while I haven’t seen any studies to prove this claim, it is rich in antioxidants (according to this study) which will always be great for your beauty and health. So it can’t hurt to have it in your kitchen and start drinking it right?

3. Bring Your Skin-Care Products to the Gym

Some Korean girls never forget to bring their cotton sheet masks when they’re at the gym because the pores in their skin have a chance to open up after the workout session. It really is a smart but simple technique for taking care of your skin.

Luckily, there are so many types of Korean sheet masks in the U.S. and many other countries, and all you need to do is bring your own to the gym.

4. BB Cream Over Foundation

When it comes to beauty, many Korean women and girls are always skin first and makeup second.

And when this is the case, they don’t really involve foundation in their makeup routines.

Foundation covers up your face too much and doesn’t allow the skin to breathe. So Koreans prefer BB creams to give their skin a nice look and blur out their imperfections at the same time.

5. Wash Your Face More Than Once

For your daily routine, this is one you can’t skip.

Cleanliness is one of the keys to Korean beauty; they make sure their skin is clean from makeup at the end of the day.

So, they do the “double cleanse” session whenever the wash their face. This method is where they remove their makeup with a cleanser first, but they also wash their face with another cleanser to get a good deep clean.

6. Make Sure to Really Rinse Off Your Face Wash

Whenever you wash your face, always take the extra time to rinse off your cleanser.

This is something that many Korean girls and women do, and it’s one of my personal favorite Korean skin care tips that I’ve added to my ritual.

The cleanser you’re using doesn’t all come off with just a few splashes to the face. There’s a lot more on there than you realize, so take maybe 20-30 seconds to really be thorough.

7. Microfiber Towels

Korean girls know that harsh fabrics will harm their skin, so they prefer microfiber towels instead of ones with a rough cloth.

This is especially the case for face towels, so their advice is to always use a microfiber or muslin towel to dry your face.

8. Pat Don’t Rub Your Skin

Our faces are one of the most delicate parts of our body, which means we need to pay the utmost attention to its care.

And the girls from Korea also know this, so they never rub their faces with a towel; instead, they pat it gently to avoid possible damage on their skin.

9. Rice Water for Cleaning Your Face

Korean girls know the benefits of rice, so they take advantage of it by making their own rice water which helps their skin.

All you need to do is soak a cup of rice (organic is preferable) in 2 cups of water for 15-30 minutes. Then strain and use its milky water to clean your face.
