9 Summer Bucket List Travel Destinations in the USA

If you want to stay stateside for your summer adventures, then you’ve got no shortage of things to keep you busy. There’s a million and one things to do in this big old country of ours, but only the coolest and most exciting make it onto our 9 summer bucket list travel destinations for the USA.

Surfing in Hawaii

Head to Hawaii and catch some of the best waves in the world. If you’re new to surfing and just want to try it out, then there are plenty of surf schools on these great islands. Scenery and friendly people add to the appeal and ambience of Hawaii and once you’re there, you won’t want to leave! 

Grand Canyon

It’s big, it’s deep, it’s wide and it should be on your USA bucket list. This massive whole in the ground is well deserving of it’s ‘grand’ suffix and there are loads of different tours and trails that you can use to explore it in your own way.

Side Note: I went there and had this moment of, “Wow… this is so much different than just seeing it in photos online.”

Route 66

Known as the Main Street of America, Route 66 is iconic and famous throughout the world. With a massive variation of stop offs and cool things to do along the way, even just driving a stretch of this great road will enteral you. The ultimate road trip! 

Hangout on Venice Beach

With a rich and fun history of creativity, Venice Beach is a perennial favorite and a worthy inclusion on the bucket list. You can spend hours just people watching but whatever you do, you’re going to have fun! 

Napa Valley

If you love vineyards and wineries Napa Valley should definitely be on your list. And even if you don’t, then it should still be on your list for its lovely scenery. 

Discover Bob Dylan’s Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village is where Bob Dylan first landed when he got to NYC and for those enamoured with this great man, it’s a kind of pilgrimage. And even if you’re not a fan of Dylan, then it’s still worth checking out for its unique buzz. It’s got its own vibe going on and at times you can feel a million miles away from the big city.

Drive the Pacific Coast Highway

Head along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway from LA to San Fran and take in the rolling beauty of the west coast. Maybe even rent yourself a soft top and cruise it with the roof down for the full experience. 

Glacier National Park, Montana

Take the Going-to-the-Sun-Road and experience this spectacular national park in all its glory. This road is impressively engineered and winds along the mountains and dives down into alpine meadows. A truly magnificent national park and one that you will definitely need a camera for.

Washington, D.C.

The nation’s great and illustrious capital should be on everybody’s bucket list. Absorb the history and culture in this breath-taking town and enjoy the hustle and bustle. There is so much to take in, see, and learn!
