8 Spring Cleaning Hacks Every Lazy Girls Should Know

After a long and gloomy winter, spring cleaning can be an overwhelming and a seemingly never ending task! But, we have some genius cleaning hacks to help you save time and get out and enjoy that fresh spring air!

Dishwasher TLC

To keep your dishwasher running at its best, place a cupful of vinegar on the top shelf and let it run on its hottest cycle. After the first cycle is done, add a cupful of baking soda by sprinkling it over the bottom shelf and let your dishwasher run once more.

Wash Your Bedding

I know you wash your bedsheets every two weeks, but it’s a good time to take those heavy comforters and pillows off the bed for a good wash. After a long winter, your comforters and pillows can accumulate a lot of dust and dirt, so it’s good to give them a good deep cleaning. Depending on how heavy your comforters are, you may need to let them air dry.

Garbage Disposal Care

Clean your garbage disposal by throwing in half a lemon, some crushed ice, and a pinch of salt and turning it on. Doing this will help to clean out and remove some built up odors lingering in your garbage disposal. And not to mention, this is a natural and chemical-free way to clean it out instead of using harmful chemicals.

Clean the Fridge

This is a great time to remove all of your fridge’s shelves and drawers and give them a good cleaning. There may even be some spills and stains leftover from Christmas; yikes! Once you have cleaned your fridge, wrap the shelves with plastic wrap for an easy clean up the next time there is a spill or a leaking container.

Disinfect Sponges

Sponges can easily absorb a lot of dirt and bacteria that we don’t want sticking around. So place them in the dishwasher for a good cleaning each time you run your dishwasher.

Kool-Aid Toilet Cleaner?

Yep, that’s right! That old Kool-Aid packet that’s been sitting in your pantry can clean your toilet. Before going to bed, flush your toilet, pour in the packet of kool-aid and let it sit overnight. When you wake up in the morning, flush your toilet and it’s clean!

Air Vent Waxing

Before waxing, clean your air vents by covering a butter knife with a rag and pass it through the slats of the vent. Once you’re done cleaning, wax them with car wax to help reduce dust buildup and allow air to pass through easier.

Newspaper Not Paper Towels

Using newspapers is best when cleaning glass surfaces like windows and mirrors because newspaper is better at picking up and absorbing grease than paper towels are. Plus, it’s a good way to use up all those newspapers you have sitting around the house.
