Rational vs Emotional

Have you inherited anything of value from a loved one you have no need for?

While it can be an emotional decision to part from assets or expensive items that we feel connected to, it can help to remember that your loved ones would have wanted the best for you.

This is just one example but it serves to show how we shouldn’t needlessly let our emotions intervene when making financial decisions. Be rational.

No Shopping Apps

If your iPhone is full of online shopping apps you’re in trouble.

Buy, Not Lease

Say No to Impulse Purchases

Ever been to the grocery store to buy something and instead came home with something else? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Make a list before leaving and avoid going to irrelevant isles.

Also, make sure to never shop when you’re feeling hungry! We tend to buy more food than we need when we’re hungry.

A Plan for Debt

Paying off your debt should be one of your top priorities when it comes to managing finances. Increased interests will suck all the money out of your account in the long run; it’s a trap!

So separate an amount from your salary for this purpose every month. It takes discipline but it’s very satisfying long-term.

Overspending on Entertainment

We spend more than 10% of our monthly income on entertainment. While it is absolutely important to enjoy your life, let go of the “live in the moment” logic because you need money for the future.

These tips will hopefully make your finances a little smoother and your life a bit easier! So try them out and let us know what you think!
