I think almost all of us have a love/hate relationship with our kitchen. We love cooking in this room but hate the idea of cleaning up the mess after every meal. And let’s not forget about the dirt and grime that builds up overtime.

So to help make things easier on you, I decided to share some awesome and easy cleaning tips for your kitchen. They’re super simple to do and makes your kitchen look great. Implementing them on your cleaning list will definitely save you a ton of time. So check them out and let me know what you think!

Clean Your Dishwasher Using a Kool-Aid

One of the most helpful kitchen appliances that you can have is the dishwasher. All you have to do is place your dishes in it, choose a setting, and let it do all the work.

But dishwashers also need to be cleaned too! And giving it a quick clean will improve its performance and lengthen its life. And an easy way to do this is to use lemonade Kool-Aid. This may sound kind of weird, but the citric acid in the lemonade, when combined with hot water in your dishwasher, gets rid of the grime and stains.

Run a Sink of Hot Soapy Water

You use your kitchen sink to clean your dishes, but what do you use to clean your sink? After each use, wash your sink with mild dish soap and warm water to have a germ and mess-free kitchen sink. And once a week, add some baking soda to your cleaning mixture to thoroughly clean and disinfect your kitchen sink.

Keep Your Countertops Clear

Once you’re done working with your sink, let’s declutter your countertops. Look for some awesome DIY organization ideas (Pinterest anyone?) that you can easily do to clear off your counters. Some awesome ideas may include…

– A creative spice rack in your cupboard that keeps everything together.

– Using command hooks to hold up wire baskets which hold ingredients or cooking appliances.

– Having a cake stand by the sink to hold your dish soap, sponge, drying cloth, etc.

Just a few changes can go a long way!

Use Magic Eraser For Your Oven Glass and Microwave

A magic eraser is a spongelike cleaner that effectively cleans your oven glass and microwave. It has the perfect texture for scrubbing grease and grime off and does a much better job than a regular sponge. It’s easy to use, very affordable and will save you so much time.

Use Couple of Ingredients to Clean Your Cutting Board

Our cutting boards get used so often, but luckily there’s an simple way to properly clean them. With just some freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice and salt, you can easily get the job done. Simply scrub the salt with the lemon or lime half over your cutting board and use a paper towel to wipe off the mess. You can also do this for your wooden spoons or any other wooden utensils.

Clean Your Kitchen Faucet

Your faucet plays an important role in your kitchen. You used it to wash your dishes, fill up your cup, and for cooking. But with overtime use, mold, lime, and mildew can grow there.

To make you feel good about your water, clean your faucet by filling up a plastic baggie halfway full with a distilled vinegar. Tie and secure it with a rubber band (around the faucet), let it sit for twenty minutes, and then remove.

Sweep and Mop or Vacuum Your Floor

Your countertops, appliances, and sink need your cleaning attention, but don’t forget about the floor! Give it a nice sweep to get all the dirt, and then mop it afterwards to get all the food drippings.

Also, if you have a rug in your kitchen, sprinkled some baking soda on it before you vacuum to make things fresh and clean again.

Cleaning Out Your Toaster

And for the last tip, I’m going to share one of my favorites! We all know how hard it can be to clean out certain kitchen appliances. I’m looking at you toaster. And one of the best ways to safely clean out hard to reach spaces in appliances like these is use a pastry brush.

It’s a simple way to make sure there aren’t any crumbs in there burning and making your whole kitchen smell.

Who say’s cleaning your kitchen should take a ton of time and effort when there’s plenty of super easy ways to get the task done? Implement these tips and tricks on your next cleaning day and you’ll be done in half the time!
