Drink Lemon Water

It’s already a given that drinking plenty of water is essential, not only for weight loss but for your overall health as well. However, adding lemon to your water gives it a boost in flavor and flushes out toxins in your body. Lemon helps your body to absorb water into your system better and speeds up your metabolism. So definitely try this one out!

Sip on Green Tea

Green tea is one of the healthiest beverage out there. Loaded with antioxidants, green tea helps to boost your metabolism. Make it a habit to drink a few cups of green tea every day for great results.

Have a Spoonful of Peanut Butter

Whether you’re attending a party or an event that’s going to have a big meal, consider nibbling on a spoonful of peanut butter before leaving. Peanut butter has good fats that slow digestion so you’ll be less likely to binge later. Just be mindful to choose a PB that’s low in sugar.

Drink Water Before Meals

To quickly trick your appetite and prevent over-eating, try drinking a glass of water before each meal. A glass of water will make you feel fuller so you won’t eat as much during your meal.

Eat with No Distractions

Usually, you eat on your couch, sitting in front of your television or at your desks in front of a computer screen. Because of this, you tend to eat more and have unhealthy meals. Skip the distractions and practice mindful eating by just sitting at the table with nothing to focus on but your meal. Enjoy your plate with no distraction. This will help you to realize when you’ve had enough instead of going into autopilot and putting fork to mouth as you watch a Netflix series.

Have a Light Dinner Early

Make sure you’re having a light dinner early; it’s a great way to make sure you don’t eat a lot right before bed (a time when you’re laying motionless and allowing calories to turn into fat). And when you eat earlier, your body is able to digest your food properly, providing you with more energy for the next day.

Switch Up Your Dinnerware

A simple change of your dinnerware can help you eat less. Try using chopsticks instead of a spoon or fork. It’ll slow down your eating and give your body time to process the fact that it’s full. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to realize that your stomach is full. That’s why you see people who eat slowly, also weight less than those who eat quickly.

Also, try using smaller plates to make your food portion look bigger, or thinner glasses for your drinks.

Sneak in More Vegetables

We all know that we need to eat more veggies but for some of us, it can be hard to incorporate them into our meals. If you want to change this habit, start by adding vegetables into meals where you can’t taste them. Blend them into tasty soups or add greens into your smoothie (or smoothie bowl). You can also use a Spiralizer to make veggie noodles for an awesome stirfry. There are endless ways to sneak in those veggies to benefit your health.

Eat Sitting Down

Compared to eating while standing, sitting down to eat can help you consume less food and fewer calories. You tend to chew your meal morel, pay attention to what you’re putting in your mouth, and feel more relaxing which is good for your digestion. It can also help you make healthier food choices since you’re not rushing out. So make it a habit to always stay seated and enjoy your meal.

With just a few changes to your daily habit, you can lose weight over time without hitting the gym or going on a diet. Many of us can be super busy, so it’s always great when there are some good tips and tricks to help us reach our goals. So try these ideas out and let me know what you think!
