1. Tropical Fruits

Though they may be healthy, tropical fruits like bananas, mangoes, papaya, pineapples, and more, are high in sugar and carbs. Choose a lower-sugar option like avocados, blueberries, and raspberries, and eat them sparingly.

2. Milk

Whether full-fat or low-fat, milk should be avoided on the Keto diet. It’s high in carbs, difficult to digest (for some people), and lacks beneficial bacteria for the body. Replace milk with cream in a small amount if you drink coffee or tea.

3. Grains

All grains and even whole grains like oats, rice, and quinoa should be avoided while on the Keto diet. They’re rich in carbs and will slow down your weight loss.

4. Dried Fruits

Dried fruits are usually high-carb as well. They also make you gain weight and have double and sometimes triple the amount of sugar compared to fresh fruits.

5. Potatoes

Starchy and high carb veggies like potatoes should be avoided when on the Keto diet. Replace them with a better option and try some cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, and leafy greens. They’re the most classic keto-friendly vegetables that’ll fill you up.

6. Hot Dogs and Sausages

While you can easily and cheaply get them from your local grocery store, both of these foods are processed meats and aren’t the healthiest protein option.

So consider getting cheaper cuts of meat that have a lot of fat which makes them perfect for the Keto diet. You’ll save money and lose weight as well!

7. Processed Foods

As it may seem obvious, processed food is no good for your Keto diet. They contain preservatives, artificial colorings, and so many unhealthy ingredients that can harm your body. Instead, focus on eating real food that comes fresh, nutritious, and delicious.

8. Pasta and Noodles

Another high carb and starchy food that you should avoid while on the Keto diet. So why not replace them with a Keto friendly alternative like veggie noodles. They’re easy to make with a Spiralizer, taste delicious, and are great for you.

9. Bread

Skip the bread when on the Keto diet and substitute your gluten-filled food with cauliflower bread. You can use cauliflower bread for anything, even pizza crust. Just replace the regular flour with powdered cauliflower rice using a food processor.

10. Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners are not a healthy substitute for sugar when on the Keto diet. They’re chemically made with a sweet taste that can sometimes be worse. They increase your glucose and insulin levels and help you gain weight.

I know it may seem challenging to follow the complete Keto diet especially if you’re new to it.
